Preview: Tropico 3
There’s really not a lot to say about Tropico 3 and its Xbox 360 release. If you’re a fan of sim games, you know exactly what to expect from this island simulator. Shaping the future of an island and attempting to become a legend in the ranks of Banana-republic leaders through economic and civil decisions, is not even close to crossing the thresh-hold of everything that needs to be managed in Tropico 3. Every decision you make as a leader has a consequence and balancing on the edge of good & evil makes for some interesting moments. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be an “El Presidente” of a Caribbean island – now is your chance to find out.
Developer: Haemimont Games
Publisher: Kalypso Media
Genre: Island leader simulator
Platforms: Xbox 360 & PC
Release: Feb.16, 2010
Similar to: Sim city, Civilization
It’s always nice to know a sim of this caliber is coming to a console near you. Traditionally PC-centric games like Tropico don’t work so well on control pads, but seeing as how Civilization: Revolution set a foot-print to be measured to, only time will tell. Expect a review here on Rejectedgamer.com soon. In the mean-time, begin planning how your island paradise will best suit the people who inhabit it and feast your eyes on some screens.

Preview: Aliens Vs Predator
In 1999, a British game developer called Rebellion took the PC gaming space by storm, with the release of a title called Alien VS Predator. More than 10 years later the same team has scheduled to release another game by the same name. Alien VS Predator is back, looks to be better than it once was, and should be on store shelves on Feb. 16th.
Having two of science-fiction’s most popular characters in one action-packed FPS experience is only the spark of excitement that should be had over this AvP release. Not only is their a marine campaign to play through, but also an alien and predator too.
- As the Marine, you’ll experience a claustrophobic and terrifying experience where light is your friend, but there’s never enough. However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity’s last line of defence, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry.
- As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honour ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face.
- As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares – the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws like a steel trap and claws like blades.
Online looks to jam these three species together in a war zone of unimaginable carnage and tactics – and looks to be nothing short of fun.
Feast on this content until it hits shelves on the 16th. Expect a review soon after.
