Halo 3:ODST Firefight Mode Details

Gamers who experienced Horde mode in Gears of War 2 absolutely loved it. But if a Horde mode in a Halo game? That’s exactly what Firefight is. Firefight is a four player co-op mode featured in Halo 3: ODST. But it’s more than just wave after wave of enemies. One key feature in Firefight is that the skull system is intact. The game will choose a random skull and for that wave players will have to overcome that skull. Also enemies will become increasingly harder and harder as the time goes on. That was all that was said and this looks like another addicting feature to a already great franchise!

Assassin’s Creed 2 Gameplay Demo

Posted by GoGamingGiant On June - 2 - 2009
This morning at the Sony Press Conference at E3, Assassin’s Creed II was shown. Honestly, it’s looking very good. The game looks very similar to the first and that is not a bad thing. I loved the first one and for this one it looks like they took the basic concepts and gameplay from the first and fixed up everything that was wrong with it. At some points it almost seems like you are watching gameplay from the first game, it looks that similar. Personally I think this was one of the best demo’s I’ve seen so far at E3. I loved the first one and this one look’s exactly like the first except with some improvements and some great additions like the glider. Take a look at the demo below.

Sony E3 Round Up

Posted by GoGamingGiant On June - 2 - 2009
E3 SONY

E3 SONY

Today Sony got their turn on the big stage and many expected a lot of small announcements they already knew about. With a lot of SONY leaks this week, and a lot of big names being thrown around I think we got a good show, and a few nice surprises. Sony began the show with the PSP and it’s new evolutions, the PSP GO, nothing huge as this has been known about (un-officially) on the web for weeks, but now it’s revealed, and ready to go. Following this we saw two major games announced for the system, Grand Turismo, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Both huge, and good looking for a PSP game, along with a large blast of PSP games (small snippets) shown revealing some games that we expected, and some raising questions (I thought I saw Fat Princess on PSP, yay).

PSP GO

Following this we were graced with the PS3’s news, we were blown away by the surprising new trailer of Final Fantasy XIII, we got a show from the developers of MAG actually letting us see 256 player at once, which still leaves me speechless. Not just this but we got a face full of many great snippets of other games, and one in particular that left me confused. ModNation Racing, why confused you ask? A racing game I actually want. It looks so good, the creation aspect we all loved in LBP with kart racing, it looks amazing.

The show ended on the note we all predicted, but regardless of the lack of surprise from this we all enjoyed God of War 3. Even though this was the Live gameply we all were so excited for I feel the comment made just before this on another innovative device deserves mention. Sony’s new motion controllers, the demo was brilliant, but seemed to be very similar to the Wii, and I’m sure this comparison will be made until they day I die.

With a great show under their belts, and leaving us with thought of brutal murder, and killer games. I know I’ll be sleeping easy, dreaming of custom race tracks in ModNation, ripping out spines in God of War 3, and hiding in a box!

Gran Turismo 5 Zooms Into E3!

Posted by GoGamingGiant On June - 2 - 2009
Yet another E3 and yet another GT5 trailer. This game has been in development for a while now and we still have no release date. Oh well, at least the trailer looks good. I’m not a big racing game fan but this is looking to be the defining racing game. In other Gran Turismo PSP was announced for the PSP Go! Check out the trailer below. The game will feature 800 cars and 35 tracks.

Sony’s New Motion Controller

Posted by GoGamingGiant On June - 2 - 2009
So everyone is jumping on the band wagon now. The Wii started the motion control and this week at E3 Microsoft and Sony showed off their new motion controllers. We brought you a nice look at Microsoft’s Project Natal yesterday and now we bring you news of Sony’s Motion Controller. The motion controller from Sony looks quite good but in my opinoin I still think Microsoft has the edge with Project Natal. Jack Tretton from Sony claims that the motion controller is “”closer to real-life than anything you’ve ever seen.” The controller will work with the Playstation Eye. Although we did not get to see any full games with using the new controller we did see a few tech demos that looked quite good. The controller is still far off though and will not be here until earliest 2010.

We be back again! This week we have a full house and some passerby’s. Disorganized as always, but still here to talk about Army of Two: The 40th Day, Borderlands, Star Ocean 4, and Lunar Silver Star Harmony. We also mention/discuss our favorite villian in games.
