Beginning this week the original title in the Call of Duty franchise that started it all, Call of Duty: Classic, will be available as an individual purchase on the Xbox LIVE on Wednesday for 1200 Microsoft Points and on the PlayStation Network on Thursday for $14.99, allowing fans to experience the original installment on next-generation consoles for the first time.

Created by Infinity Ward in 2003, the original Call of Duty launched the hit franchise with more than 80 Game of the Year awards and 50 Editors’ Choice honors. Ported to Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network by Aspyr, Call of Duty: Classic is rated “T” by the ESRB for Blood & Violence, and is currently available as downloadable content in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Collector’s Editions published by Activision Publishing, Inc.

Final Fight: Double Impact will be coming to PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE in April 2010. This digital release will house not one, but two awesome Capcom classics – Final Fight and Magic Sword.

Final Fight: Double Impact is a dual release of two classic arcade side-scrolling beat-em-ups. First up is Final Fight, where players follow the heart-pounding adventures of Cody, Guy, and Haggar – three heroes fighting their way across crime-ridden Metro City in hopes of saving Haggar’s daughter from the evil clutches of Mad Gear. As a consequence of his actions, he will inevitably meet the source of this scourge upon humanity – the dark lord Drokmar. But fear not as the hero is accompanied by eight allies who will lend their assistance through out the game. All of them bring specific skills and talents to contribute to the fight. It’s an amazing side-scrolling action illustrated in classic fantasy stylings, making a perfect pairing with Final Fight.
