I’m a sucker for a good fighter. Even more so for weapon based fighters. Throw in beautiful 2D animation, and you’ve got a total winner in my book. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger combines all these elements in one gorgeous, well animated package. It’s the spiritual successor to the Guilty Gear series, one of my all time favorite fighting series, so expectations are high. Though the Guilty Gear series has gone in a completely different direction with the recently released Guilty Gear 2, BlazBlue is keeping the spirit of the fighter alive over at developer Arc System Works. Best news is, the limited edition (pictured above) is the same price as the normal, and the game releases for the PS3 and 360 next week! Exclusive content for the console version includes a 30+ hour story mode, dual language support, and online play. Between this, Street Fighter IV, King of Fighters XII, and Tekken 6, this is truly the year of the fighter!
