Every year a new athlete is posterized and deemed with the honor of being on the front of the new Madden game. Every year that player gets shunned upon by the “Madden Curse” and gets hurt whether it be season ending or just a shoulder bruise. Which is why this year may be a bad year for the two teams that were in the Super Bowl last year.
This years cover of Madden 10 will picture two of the NFL’s best players at their respectable positions, not just one. Larry Fitzgerald the wide receiver of the Arizona Cardinals and Troy Palamalu the safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers will be throned upon Madden 10′s cover. Another interesting point to make is although Madden has retired from broadcasting, the series will continue on. Does this mean we have to hear him talk even after being gone? Kidding aside I like Madden, and what would they change the name to after all these years of being regarded as the best video game football franchise ever anyways?
As far as the Madden curse goes, well I think Favre broke the curse last year anyways. Regardless the fact the man is a machine and would play with one leg, he did suffer a shoulder injury at the end of the season, which by the way did not stop him from playing. So does that break the curse? Either way the cover art is spectacular and Troy and Larry will most likely both have very stellar years again.
