Lego: Rock Band announced, releasing in Holiday 2009
The game which has been in rumor posts across the internet, and has even been in some gamer’s nightmares, is a reality.
Today, it was announced that Lego: Rock Band is real, and will be released this holiday season for 360, PS3, and Wii. It is being developed by Harmonix and Traveler’s Tales, and will be compatable with all Rock Band/Guitar Hero instruments. There is also a Nintendo DS version in the works, which will be co-developed with Backbone Entertainment.
The game is more “family focused”, and that will be reflected through the track list. Also, the game will have all the humor and fun of the Lego game franchise through the user-made Lego style avatars.
Not too much is known of the song list, but five songs have been released as being on the track list. Those are:
- Blur: “Song 2″
- Carl Douglas: “Kung Fu Fighting”
- Europe: “The Final Countdown”
- Good Charlotte: “Boys and Girls”
- Pink: “So What”
Also, here’s some more screenshots of the Lego style Rock Band avatars:

I though when Rock Band was announced Harmonix said it would not be putting out version after version but would make Rock Band a "platform"?? guess not you money grubbing A-Holes!

I disagree. While this seems kinda dumb, it seems like a game made for kids. Like a Kidz Bop version of Rock Band.
Also, what's wrong with the GH franchise is that when a new game comes out, Activision totally undermines the old game by cutting its legs out from under it. I, and other people, would love GH if they made all DLC and disc songs compatable with new versions, like Rock Band does. With all the Rock Band games, you've been allowed to put the songs on the latest game, even the AC/DC game.
Also, if the song list is good on this game and I can play the songs on Rock Band 2, I might buy it. I loves me song Song 2.

why? why? why? Rock band is very kid friendly, i dont know what would make this version more kid friendly, obviously not the song list Europe was around before i was born.
so they switch from user created characters to lego characters to make it dif…
The only thing going for this would be if you could use songs from this game on rock band 2 or vise versa otherwise its completely pointless…
What really is crazy is that an Indiana Jones game would be awesome yet no one will do it, but they will make a Lego Indiana Jones… Ugh i just dont understand why…

The. Final. Countdown. That's all I have to say. Depending on what other songs are in the game, I will actually purchase this. It is a major bummer that they just don't release the freakin' songs for download, though.
